Mumme Products tools are of the highest quality and made with safety in mind.
We use the correct materials for each product and use first grade materials. Many
cheaper Asian products are made of second hand material which has been re-rolled
and may contain cracks which can cause tools to chip or snap.
Heat treatment is critical. Each product must be heat treated correctly for its
individual application. Our products are heat treated to the applicable Australian
or British standard. Many cheaper Asian products are very poorly heat treated or
not heat treated at all.
The finish of the working or cutting edge of a tool is also very important as this
is the difference between an easy safe job and a complete waste of time A chisel
with a correctly ground angle on the cutting edge will cut much easier and with
much less effort. Where as one with too sharper angle will chip or one that is too
blunt won’t cut and will cause operator fatigue or an accident.
